Deadly Plug

Deadly Plug

This is a photo of a temperature-pressure relief valve (TPRV) found on all water heaters.

It is a safety valve and controls run-away temperature and pressure; if something goes wrong with the water heater gas controller.plugged tpr valveplugged tpr valve

The TPRV valve is supposed to have an attached discharge pipe… But someone installed a threaded plug into the valve… A deadly plug!

If the gas controller fails to turn off the thermostat temperature… Excessive pressure will build up… Overheat the water inside the water heater… And with a plugged relief valve, there‚Äôs a high probability the water heater tank will explode.
